Pay Your Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) Remittance Online.

 
Important Information

 

MasterCard, VISA, American Express, Discover Card and eChecks can be used to make an ePayment.

Instructions for Making an Internet Payment

ePayment

You will need your Certificate Number, DBA Number and Location ID to make an internet payment. Enter the 11 digit number as a single string of numbers.

If you are submitting the TOT Prepayment via the internet you do not need to send back the payment  coupon.

Payment Options

Online payment transactions are administered through our partner in this online application, Link2Gov. A convenience fee is applied to all debit and credit card payments. The following chart provides a summary of the available payment methods.

    Debit Card Online only VISA Personal Debit, STAR, NYCE and PULSE, subject to your bank's participation. If your bank does not authorize your card for "PIN-less debit" transactions, your transaction will be processed as a credit card payment with the corresponding 2.25% convenience fee. $99,900 $3.95 flat fee
    E-check Online only Not all accounts are acceptable for electronic payments. If you plan to use an account other than a standard bank checking account, check with your financial institution before submitting payment. $99,999 NO FEE
    Check Mail, In Person Check or bank draft drawn on a U.S. bank. Make check payable to San Francisco Tax Collector. Write the certificate number on your check to ensure proper credit.  No limit NO FEE
    Cash In Person Only U.S. currency No limit NO FEE

The San Francisco Tax Collector does not receive any part of this fee. This fee is non-refundable.

ACH and Wire Transfers

Funds may be electronically transferred to the City and County of San Francisco’s account either through the Federal Wire System or ACH. Specific wiring instructions should be provided to your partnering bank. Click on this link to access a copy of the instructions. Electronic transfers must be received by the San Francisco Tax Collector, on or before the deadline to avoid penalties, interest and other fees.

 

Pay in Person

 

Cash, check and credit card payments may be made in City Hall Room 140.


Maximum Amount
At this time there are maximum threshold limits placed on the different payment types (see table above). If you wish to make a prepayment that exceeds the maximum amount designated above, may submit multiple transactions. Please note you must wait 15 minutes between each payment made.
